Zoe Wanamaker is a British theater, film, and television actress of American descent who comes from a family of actresses and filmmakers.
Her fascination with the entertainment world began at an early age. She began her career as a performer in local and national theaters, where she was widely praised for her talents. Later she started working for the Royal Shakespeare Company in the mid-1970s and stayed there for about a decade.
In the 1980s and 1990s, she began her transition from theater to film by acting in small and supporting parts in popular television programs and films.
Her major break on the big screen came with the comedy series “My Family” where she played Susan Harper. With a reputation as a versatile actress, she further boosted her profile starring in numerous successful films and television series such as "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone", "My Week with Marilyn", "Shadow and Bone", and "The Old Curiosity Shop".
