Family and Education
Alexa is married to Douglas Petrie whom she shares a son named Henry Petrie with. Raised in Los Angeles, she went to Barnard College where she worked with acclaimed artists like Jeanine Tesori and David Rakoff at Columbia University Varsity Show, setting the record as the first female director of the show. She furthered her studies at the New York University's Tisch School of Performing Arts.
Career
As a screenwriter, Junge excelled in her work, signing on as the writer and producer of one of America’s all-time favorite sitcoms, "Friends", which earned her an Emmy nomination. She even won the National AOL poll for the "All Time Favorite Friends" episode.
Productions under her belt include the Disney cartoon "Lilo and Stitch 2", "Best Friends Forever", " Grace and Frankie", etc.
She worked on "Friends" between 1994 and 1997. She wrote the lyrics for two of Disney's productions namely "Mulan" and "Lilo and Stitch 2".
Achievements
She earned three Emmy nominations for Outstanding Best Comedy for “Friends” and another Emmy nomination for the show "The West Wing".
