About Alfred Dreyfus
Alfred Dreyfus was a well-known French army officer who was wrongfully accused of treason in 1894. He was arrested after a handwritten note detailing the operations of the French army was found at the German Embassy. After some investigation, Dreyfus was said to be the culprit and was considered a spy. He was stripped of his ranks and cashiered.
