About Amjad Khan
Amjad Khan earned acting credits for more than 130 films in the Indian film industry, most of them in the Hindi language. He was a professional theatre actor before he took to film acting.
He is remembered best for his portrayal of Gabbar Singh, the main villain in the 1975 action-adventure film, “Sholay”. The role earned him widespread popularity and subsequent influential villainous roles including Dilawar in “Muqaddar Ka Sikandar”.
His other notable films include “Yaarana”, “Maa Kasam” and “Qurbani”.
Family Life
His father was the iconic Indian actor, Jayant. He was the elder brother of actor Imtiaz Khan. He was married to a woman named Shehla and they had three children together. Actor Shadaab Khan is his eldest child.

He received three Filmfare Awards and a BFJA Award for his work.
