Her other notable novels include 1979's The Feast of All Saints and 1996's Servant of the Bones. Personal Life
She was married to renowned poet Stan Rice from 1961 until his death in 2002. The marriage produced two children: Michele and Christopher Rice.
Trivia
Over the years, a number of her books have been adapted into films, including 1976's Interview with the Vampire, which was made into a 1994 film of the same name starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt.
She came close to death on multiple occasions, including in 1998 when she suddenly fell into a diabetic coma.
Her daughter Michele Rice died at the age of five from leukemia.
