About Arcangelo Corelli
Arcangelo Corelli was a top Italian violinist who has been credited for developing the concerto and sonata genres. He gained international fame in 1687 after leading a musical festival for Queen Christina of Sweden.
He was made one of the members of the Arcadian Academy of Rome and was given the title “Arcomelo Erimanteo”. He was best known for his “Twelve concerti grossi” which was published in 1714.
