About Barry Nelson
Barry Nelson was active in the film and television industry as an actor for 50 years. He is remembered best for being the first actor to play the secret agent, James Bond. He debuted on-screen in a 1938 film, “Comet Over Broadway” for which he earned no credit. He portrayed James Bond in “Casino Royale”, which was a live adaptation of the novel of the same title on television in 1954.
On stage, he was known for roles such as Joe in the play, “The Only Game in Town” and as Dan Connors in the musical, “The Act” on Broadway.
Family Life
His father, Trygve Nielsen and his mother, Betsy Christophersen were both Norwegian immigrants. Actress Teresa Celli was his first wife. He married Nansilee Hoy, his second wife, in 1951.
Achievements
He was honored with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star on February 8, 1960.

He died at the age of 89 on April 7, 2007.
