Brian Keith worked for almost 60 years as an actor, with roles in films, on television and on stage.
He officially began acting in the 1940s, almost two decades after uncredited child roles in two 1924 films.
He rose to fame through his portrayal of characters such as Bill Davis in the television sitcom, “Family Affair” Mitch Evans in the 1961 film “The Parent Trap” and Police Chief Link Mattocks in “The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming”.
Family Life
He was the son of Helena Shipman, a stage actress, and actor Robert Keith. Actress Judy Landon was his second wife and they had two biological children together. He was first married to Frances Helm and then later to actress Victoria Young.
Achievements
He was awarded a posthumous Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2008.
Death
He died by suicide with a gun on 24 June 1997.
