About Carl Wilson
Carl Wilson’s professional career in music began in 1961, when he was 15 years old. The musician, singer and songwriter is remembered best for having co-founded the American rock band, The Beach Boys in which he performed as the lead guitarist and a backing vocalist. On some hit songs such as “Good Vibrations”, “Kokomo” and “God Only Knows”, he was the lead vocalist.
He started pursuing a solo career in the 1980s, during which he released two albums: “Carl Wilson” and “Youngblood”.
Family Life
He was the youngest of the three sons of Murry Gage Wilson (who eventually became the Beach Boys’ manager) and Audree Neva. He performed alongside his elder brothers Dennis and Brian in the Beach Boys. He had two sons with his first wife, Annie Hinsche, who divorced him later. In 1987, he married Gina, the daughter of singer and actor Dean Martin.
Achievements
He is an inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Death
He died on February 6, 1998 from lung cancer.
