Personal Life
Carlos Iván Beltrán was the name given to him when he was born. He was educated at Fernando Callejo High School. He loved sports and was good at a few of them, especially baseball and volleyball. As he got older, his father made him aware of the disadvantages of focusing on both games and urged him to prioritize baseball which he did. He had a cousin by name Rey Fuentes who played baseball and a nephew named Matthew Lugo who was drafted by the Red Sox. He got married to Jessica and together, they raised three children.
Career
In 1998, he played for Kansas City Royals for about six years then moved to join Houston Astros in 2004. The following year, he joined the New York Mets and stayed with them for about six years. He then continued to play for the San Francisco Giants. Other teams he has played for include St Louis Cardinals, New York Yankees and Texas Rangers.
Trivia
There is a baseball academy by the name Carlos Beltrán Baseball Academy which helps train young people who want to play baseball. It is known that he invested millions of dollars into the academy.
