About Chad Brannon
Chad is best known for playing the recurring role of Zander Smith in over 250 episodes of the soap opera “General Hospital” between 2000 and 2004. His performance won him the “Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series” award at the 2004 Daytime Emmy.
Career Highlights
He re-appeared in the “General Hospital” in 2009 and 2021 but in three different roles. He guest starred as Lucas Mize in Peter Berg’s sports drama “Friday Night Light”. Chad Brannon also appeared in three episodes of the long-running NBC soap opera “Days of Our Lives”.
Fox TV brought him on to join their network announcers covering such shows as Seth MacFarlane’s “Family Guy” and “American Dad” in 2008.
His film appearances include roles as CIA agent in Nicholas Sturghill's "Killing the Badge”. He was cast as Tolten in the role-playing video game “Lost Odyssey”.
Besides acting, he produced and directed the 2011 film “Serving Justice” in which he also starred as Bret Daniels.
Awards
His role in “General Hospital” earned him a 2003 Gold Derby nomination for “Younger Actor” and a win for “Outstanding Male Newcomer” at the 2001 Soap Opera Digest Awards.
Trivia
He used to work as a waiter at Jerry’s Famous Deli restaurant just close by Prospect Studios in Los Angeles where much of “General Hospital” was produced.
