About Charles Nagy
Former American baseball player Charles Nagy was once called the “master of the 11-hitter.” He played for 14 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) before transitioning into a coaching career following his retirement.
Education & Amateur Career
Nagy played football and baseball in high school. He was accepted into the University of Connecticut, where he played college baseball for the Huskies. He also represented the Team USA baseball team at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea.
Professional Career
In 1988, Nagy was drafted into the MLB to play for the Cleveland Indians and made his first All-Star appearance in 1992. He also joined the San Diego Padres in 2003 before announcing his retirement. He was made coach of the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2010. He also coached the Indians and the Los Angeles Angels before retiring from coaching in 2018.
