Dave Eggers is a memoirist, editor, and publisher from the United States. He probably became famous in 2001 after publishing his first book titled “A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius”. He has gone on to write numerous works of fiction and nonfiction.
He is the creator of McSweeney's publishing house. He also invented ScholarMatch, a platform that matches contributors with students in need of financial aid for higher education.
His other notable works include "You Shall Know Our Velocity”, "The Circle," and “A Hologram for the King”.

His parents are John K. Eggers and Heidi McSweeney Eggers. He has three siblings called Christopher Eggers, Beth Eggers, and William D. Eggers. He has been married to Vendela Vida, who is also a writer. Together, they’ve raised two children.
