4- time All-Star Game winner David Andrew Taylor made hockey on ice seem flawless with his sharp reflexes and strong handles. The Canadian former professional ice hockey player made his name known while playing for the Los Angeles Kings from 1977 to 1994.
Early Life
Taylor graduated from Levack High School while he worked at his hometown mine. He discovered ice hockey and became a prodigy while playing for Onaping Falls Huskies. He later graduated from Clarkson University, where he won the ECAC Hockey Player of the Year Award.
Career
The hockey player became the 210th overall pick for Los Angeles Kings in 1975 and later became its captain from 1985 to 1989. His contribution to the team led him to win the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy in 1991.
Taylor represented Canada from 1985 to 1986 and recorded several national medals. He later transitioned into the management role and became the manager of the Los Angeles Kings from 1997 to 2006.
Personal Life
The hockey player married Beth Taylor, and they have 2 children as of 2021.
Trivia
Taylor has struggled with stuttering since childhood. He mostly tried to mask his stuttering by feigning hyperventilation during post-game interviews early in his professional hockey career.
