Brown was a popular reggae artist, who was mostly acknowledged for his enormous work in the Jamaican reggae scene. He started off his musical career when he was eleven years of age, and by the end of his career, he had at least 75 studio albums to his credit.
As a successful artist, several top-notch singers like Bob Marley referred to him as their favorite singer.
Some of Brown's music influences include Brook Benton, Frank Sinatra, Sam Cooke and Dean Martin.
After recording a prolific career, he met his untimely death in 1999 following a collapsed lung - which was fueled by his long-term addiction to cocaine.

Achievements
He got nominated for the "Best Ethnic Or Traditional Folk Recording" for his album, "Tribute To Bob Marley" at the Grammy Awards.
At the same award scheme, his works "Light My Fire" and "Let Me Be The One" landed him nominations for the "Best Reggae Album" in 1994 and 2000, respectively.
