About Desmond Bagley
The British journalist was a best-selling writer of thrillers and short stories. Loved for his writing style, Bagley came out with his first major work “Argosy”, a short story which was published in 1957. He later followed this with his novel “Windfall”, published in 1982 in the United Kingdom. Other novels that he wrote include: “Running Bird”, “High Citadel” and “Landslide”.
Writing Style
Bagley often wrote using the first-person narrative and scarcely used recurrent players the characters Max Stafford in “Flyaway” and ‘Windfall” and Metcalfe in “The Golden Keel” and “The Freedom Trap”.
Family
Bagley was the son of John and Hannah Bagley. He married Joan Margaret Brown in 1960.
Legacy
The novels “Juggernaut” and “Night of Error” were finished and published by his wife after his death.
“Because Salton Died”, which was later changed to “Domino Island”, was published on May 9, 2019 by Harper Collins.
Death
Bagley passed away on April 12, 1983 at the age of 59. The cause of death was a stroke.
