About Ed Stafford
After completing his military service in 2002, Ed Stafford decided to embark on a series of wild expeditions. His most publicized adventure began in 2008 which was to find the Amazon River’s furthest source. He completed his mission two years later and became the first person to walk the full-length of the River which stretches from Peru to Brazil. He was accompanied by Peruvian adventurer Gadiel "Cho" Sánchez Rivera.
Other works
The British explorer has also enjoyed some amount of fame as a television host. He’s widely known for hosting Discovery Channel’s documentary titled “Ed Stafford: Naked and Marooned”. He has also worked with the Channel Four network.
Stafford is also a recognized writer. In 2021, he published his sixth book titled “Epic Expediitions: 25 of the Greatest Voyages Into the Unknown”.
Family
He was raised by his foster parents Jeremy and Barbara Stafford. In 2016, he married fellow explorer Laura Bingham. Four years later, they give birth to a set of twins named Camilla and Mary. They have another child named Ranulph.
Education
He graduated from Uppingham School before joining Newcastle University to study Geography.
Recognition
In 2012, his name was included in the Guinness Book of Records.

He got to the rank of a Captain before leaving the military.
