His Reign
After serving with his father in campaigns to conquer Scotland, Edward II was knighted. He became King of England after his father, Edward I, died. Edward II married Isabella of France soon after. Unfortunately, Edwar's reign was not very successful. An ongoing feud between him and the Earl of Lancaster weakened the Kingdom. During this time, Edward also lost in battle to Robert the Bruce of Scotland. To top things off, Edward's wife Isabella ended up betraying him, which led to his downfall.
