About Elvis Stojko
Olympic silver medalist Elvis Stojko shot to fame at the age of eleven years when he won his first amateur trophy. The Ontario-born figure skater participated in his first World Championship in 1991 and made his Olympic debut the following year.
Before ending his career in 2006, the Canadian had won a total of two Olympic silver medals, three World Championship gold medals, and one gold medal at the Four Continents Championships.
Family
His father is from Slovenia, while his mother is a native of Hungary. His marriage to Gladys Orozco, also a figure skater, took place in 2010.
Other laurels
In 1994, he received the Lionel Conacher Award. He has also been inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame, the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame, and Canada's Sports Hall of Fame.

Stojko began skating at age 4.
