About Frances Hodgson Burnett
Frances Hodgson Burnett was a legendary American author and dramatist of British ancestry who is remembered today for her children's novels. Born into a middle-class family of the 19th century she had a natural talent for telling stories from an early age. However, owing to her family's financial situation following the death of her father, she chose to use her storytelling ability to assist her family financially.
She had her first piece published in a British women's magazine when she was nineteen years old. She soon made enough money to set up her nuptial house and assist them with their finances. She eventually married and had two kids, but she continued to write, releasing her first novel in 1877 at the age of twenty-eight and going on to create children's classics such as "Queen Silver-Bell", "The Secret Garden", "The Making of a Marchioness", "Little Lord Fauntleroy," and "A Little Princess".
She continued to write as a prolific writer until her death.

She married Stephen Townesend from 1900 to 1902 and Swan Burnett between 1873 and 1898.
