About Francis Bacon
Francis Bacon was an English philosopher and statesman known for introducing the Baconian method and for his advocacy of the scientific method. He was regarded as the father of empiricism. From 1617 to 1621, he was the Lord High Chancellor of England. He was also the Attorney General of England and Wales from 1613 to 1617. He was knighted in 1603 by King James I.
Personal Life
In 1606, at the age of 45, he married 14-year-old Alice Barnham.
Trivia
He died of pneumonia in 1626. According to John Aubrey, he contracted pneumonia while trying to study the effects of cold on meat preservation.
