About Gareth Anscombe
New Zealand rugby export Gareth Anscombe has represented the Wales national rugby union team on a number of occasions. His late conversion helped Wales defeat South Africa for the first time in history, winning the second Test 13-12 in 2022.
Family Life
He is the offspring of Mark Anscombe, a former coach for Ulster and Auckland. He went to Rosmini College. In 2017, he married longtime partner Milica Bubanja.
Career
In his first season after leaving school, he made his Auckland debut in 2010. He earned the most points at the IRB Junior World Championship in 2011 and kept his spot on the Auckland squad.
In 2012, he debuted for Auckland's Blues. In round three against the Bulls, he made his starting debut and contributed all of the Blues' points to their 29-23 victory. He committed to the Chiefs in 2013 for the 2014 season.
Trivia
He competed for New Zealand at the under-20 level.
