Harry Morgan had a fulfilling 6-decade-long acting career. The American actor and director, whose screen work started in the 1930s, became known for his portrayal of characters such as Pete Porter in “Pete and Gladys” and “December Bride”; Amos Coogan in “Hec Ramsey”; Bill Gannon in “Dragnet”; and Colonel Sherman T. Potter in “M*A*S*H” and “AfterMASH”.
Family Life
He was brought up by his parents, Henry and Hannah Bratsberg in Muskegon, Michigan along with two siblings. He was married twice: first to Eileen Detchon, the mother of his four kids, from 1940 until she died in 1985 and then to Barabara Bushman Quine in 1986.
Achievements
He was the recipient of a 1980 Primetime Emmy Award.
Death
He died in his sleep aged 96 on 7 December 2011.
