About Helenio Herrera
Former football player and manager Helenio Herrera was an outstanding Argentine sportsman who also had French nationality. As a player, he was regarded as one of the greatest defenders in the whole globe. His managerial career saw him achieve a lot with Inter Milan during the 1960s.
He showed athletic ability in his formative years and started his professional career in 1931 with the Racing Casablancam, Moroccan club. He continued playing for successful clubs after that, including CASG Paris, Stade Français, Charleville, Excelsior Roubaix, Red Star Olympique, and Stade Français.
After retiring from active play in 1944, Herrera assumed a new role as a coach. Real Valladolid, Atlético Madrid, Deportivo de La Coruna, Sevilla, Belenenses, and Barcelona are just a few of the clubs he has coached. He also managed the Spanish and Italian national teams.
