Jack Wright was a Canadian tennis player who is considered to have been the best athlete Canada produced in that sport during his era, which would be the early 20th century. And accordingly, he has achieved a number of accolades, even posthumously.
Achievements
Wright was the first Canadian to reach as high as number three on the tennis ranking for the entire world.
He represented Canada at the Davis Cup for an entire decade, from 1923 to 1933.
He was a Canadian National tennis champion three times in singles and four times in doubles.
Wright was posthumously inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame (of Canada, 1955), the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame (1972) and the McGill Redmen Hall of Fame (2000).
