About Jamie Hyneman

James Franklin Hyneman is a television host and special effects professional. He is recognized best for his work on the science entertainment television show “MythBusters” as a co-presenter. He is also the founder of the special effects company, M5 Industries. He was also a judge on “Unchained Reaction”, a science reality game show.  

Family Life 

Hyneman grew up in Columbus, Indiana. He has been the husband of Eileen Walsh, a science teacher, since 1989.  

Achievements 

He has been conferred with honorary doctorate degrees in science, technology and/or engineering from the University of Twente, Villanova University and the Lappeenranta University of Technology.  

Trivia 

Special effects designer Adam Savage has been his on-screen partner for hosting the shows “MythBusters” and “Unchained Reaction”.
