About Jimmy McShane
Jimmy McShane was an Irish singer who rose to prominence as a vocalist of the Italian band, Baltimora. He formed the group in the 1980s with Maurizio Bassi, an Italian music producer and keyboardist. The ensemble is best known for their 1985 hit single, "Tarzan Boy". He died in 1995 after suffering from complications resulting from his AIDS diagnosis a year earlier.
Family Life
He grew up in Northern Ireland's Derry. It is alleged that he was disowned by his family in his late teenage years because he revealed that he was homosexual.
Achievements
Between 1985 and 1986, "Tarzan Boy" topped the charts in countries such as Belgium, Finland, France, Netherlands and Spain. As of July 2020, the single had also received gold certifications from the music certification bodies in Canada, France and Spain.
Trivia
He and Bassi went their separate ways after their second album, "Survivor in Love" failed to make waves like their previous album.
