Personal Life
He married his cousin Maria Barbara Bach in 1706. Bach and Maria had seven children. In 1720, Maria died. A year after Maria’s death, Bach got married for the second time to a singer named Anna Magdalena Wülcken. Bach and Anna had thirteen children together.
Trivia
During his lifetime, Bach wasn't considered a great composer; he was known more for being an organist he was known for being a composer. It was until after his death that interest in his musical composition soared.
In his final years, Bach struggled with eye problems and eventually got blind after he underwent an eye surgery meant to fix his failing sight.
