She attended Francis Combe School and Community College in Watford
Early Career
She played college football with the college team Seton Hall Pirates from 1997-1999, playing in about 50 matches and scoring more than 60 goals.
Senior Career
Smith played with the Wembley Ladies from 1994 – 1996. She later moved on to play with Arsenal Ladies for the next 1996-97 season. Between 1999 and 2000, she played with the professional club, New Jersey Lady Stallions.
The forward played with Philadelphia Charge from 2001-03, making over 25 appearances and scoring nearly ten goals. She played for the New Jersey Wildcats in the W-League in 2004 in about 7 matches and scored about 7 goals.
From 2005-09 she went back to England to play with the Arsenal ladies where she appeared in over 60 matches and scored more than 70 goals. Smith left Arsenal to join the Boston Breakers in 2009 and played there until 2012, playing in nearly 50 games and recording over 15 goals.
Her final seasons, 2012-17 were spent with Arsenal ladies where she played in over 20 matches and scored almost ten goals.
Honors
She is recorded as the first athlete to be the Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year in the same season at the Big East Conference.
She was selected to the 2001 WUSA Global 11 All-Star Team.
