About Lee Iacocca
Lido Anthony Iacocca, popularly known as Lee Iacocca, made a name for himself as a prominent automobile executive. He was hired by the Ford Motor Company in 1946 as an engineer. He joined the sales division and by 1970, had risen to become the president of the company. He is remembered best for actively contributing to the development of the Ford Pinto and Ford Mustang cars. He is also known for preventing Chrysler Corporation from going out of business in the 1980s while serving as its CEO.
Family Life
He was the son of Italian Americans, Antonietta Perrotta and Nicola Iacocca. He had two children with his first wife, Mary McCleary, who died in 1983. He married two more times after her death, both of which ended in either an annulment or a divorce.
Achievements
He won an S. Roger Horchow Award in 1985.
Death
He died of Parkinson’s disease complications on 2 July 2019.
