About Mac Dre
He was an American rapper, record producer and hip hop pioneer, who was born, Andre Hicks but was mainly referred to, professionally, as "Mac Dre". During the inception of the 2000s, he played a major role in the mainstreaming of "hyphy" music.
Due to his efforts towards the aforementioned term, he is mostly referred to as a prominent conveyer of the hyphy style of music. Before his untimely demise, he was able to record numerous albums of several then-upcoming rappers through the help of his independent record label, Thizz Entertainment.
He was killed by an unknown gunman in 2004. Some of his albums include; "Young Black Brotha" (1993), "Stupid Doo Doo Dumb" (1998), "Heart of a Gangsta, Mind of a Hustla, Tongue of a Pimp" (2000), "Thizzelle Washington" (2002), "Ronald Dregan: Dreganomics" (2004), and more.

He was born to father, Allen Hicks and mother, Wanda Salvatto, who is a music producer. He left behind a sister named Jacquil Hicks and a daughter named Andrea Hicks.
