Marie Kondo, also referred to as Konmari, is a Japanese author, reality television personality and organizing consultant. She first rose to prominence in the early 2010s after her books on organizing became international bestsellers in Europe and in the United States in the mid-2010s.
In 2019, she became even more famous and earned new fans after her reality series, “Tidying Up with Marie Kondo” began showing on Netflix.
Personal Life
According to Kondo, her obsession with orderliness began when she was a child. She grew up in Tokyo, where she earned a degree in sociology from the Tokyo Woman’s Christian University. She has been married to Takumi Kawahara, a former sales support and marketing technician, since 2012. They have two daughters together.
Achievements
She appeared on Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People” list in 2015.
