Nicholas Phipps was a very popular television star from 1940 and 1970. The English actor started his career as a stage performer and was associated with the Oxford Playhouse. During the end of the 1930s, he toured a number of countries performing some popular plays.
By the end of 1970, he had starred in over 30 films which included “Maytime in Mayfairs” and “Mad About Men”. He was also a renowned writer and wrote a number of songs, revues, and plays.

He was born to Margaret Percy and her civil servant husband Sir Edmund Bampfylde Phipps.
