Philip Anschutz is an American businessman who has ventured into various industries. The industries include railroads, energy, sports, real estate, newspapers, music, movies, arenas and theaters. Coming from an oil drilling business-owning family, he got his start in the industry by purchasing his father’s company, Circle A Drilling. He is a major owner of the Los Angeles Kings and a minor shareholder of Los Angeles Lakers. He also has shares in famous event venues such as Staples Center, Dignity Health Sports Park and The O2, London.
Family Life
The Anschutz Family Foundation was set up with memorial funds from his parents, Marian Pfister and Fred Anschutz. He has three children with his wife, Nancy.

He is an inductee of the U.S. Business Hall of Fame and the Kansas Business Hall of Fame.

The Anschutz Medical Campus of the University of Colorado was named after him due to his donations, which have exceeded $100 million.
