He won a Hugo Award and a John W. Campbell Memorial Award in 1963 and 1975 respectively. He also won the British Science Fiction Association Award in 1978 for his novel A Scanner Darkly. His novel Ubik was included in Time magazine's 2005 list of the hundred greatest English language novels published since 1923.
