About Raul Seixas
Raul Seixas was a Brazilian musician who loved to work on music genres like blues rock, country rock and rockabilly. As a result of his contribution to rock music, he was titled with several names like “Father of Brazilian Rock” and “Mad Beauty”.
Personal life
He was the son of Raul Varella Seixas and Maria Eugenia dos Santos.
Seixas was married four times and his last marriage was with Angela Affonso Costa in 1980. He was the father to four children.
Career Highlight
He was a member of the Os Panteras band and they were known as the best rock group during its time of formation. The band also served as backup singers for great musicians like Roberto Carlos. Together with the band, they released the album “Odeon” in 1968. The album was unsuccessful, and following the poor performance of the album, the group was disbanded.
He then became a solo artist and in 1968, he released his first studio album titled “Raulzito e os Panteras”. From there, he released over 18 albums, including “Krig-ha, Bandolo”, “Nova Aeon”, “Raul Rock Seixas” and “Mata Virgem”.
Death
The rock singer died of pancreatitis.
Trivia
His album “A Panela do Diabo” featured Brazilian singer Marcelo Nova.
