About Richard Serra
Richard Serra, one of America’s most celebrated sculptors and artists, produced his first recognized artwork in 1966. A minimalist sculptor, he was known to be a believer of the Process Art movement. He has produced lots of art with some captioned “Gedenkstätte Goslar”, “Gravity” and the “Berlin Junction” which was to honor people who were affected by the Nazi’s genocide action.

He earned his first degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He later attended Yale School of Art where he studied painting.

Honors
He was awarded the Skowhegan Medal for Sculptur in 1971. He was made a member of the highly-rated American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1993. Two year before that, he received the WilhemLehmbruck Prize for Sculpture.
