Robert Earnshaw is a retired Welsh professional football legend. He is among the best Wales strikers ever. As of 2020, he was Wales’ seventh top scorer.
Early life
He was born in Zambia but grew up in South Wales. He attended the Cardinal Newman RC School, Pontypridd, and St. Helen's Primary.
He joined GE Wales at the age of 12 and scored 80 times in a season, earning his reputation as a top striker.
Career Highlights
In 1997, he joined Cardiff City's Youth Training Scheme (YTS) as a trainee. He made his debut at age 16 before being sent to a season loan spell at Greenock Morton. After his return to Cardiff from the loan, he became an incredible player for the club. He scored over 100 goals for Cardiff, and in 2003, his prolific striking abilities were integral to the club's promotion to the First Division.
From 2005 until his retirement in 2015, he played for clubs in the Israeli Premier League, UK, and Major League Soccer.
He made 59 caps for the Wales national team and scored 16 times in those fixtures.
Record
As of 2020, he was the only footballer to have achieved a hat trick in the English Football League, FA Cup, League Cup, Premier League, and his national team.
