About Roger Goodell
Roger Goodell rose through the ranks to occupy the topmost position in the administration of the National Football League. A year after receiving his economics degree in 1981, he joined the NFL office in New York as an intern.
By 1987, he had become the assistant to Lamar Hunt, then the American Football Conference President. In 2006, after having been in office for five years as the league’s Chief Operating Officer, he was elected the NFL Commissioner.
Family Life
He is the son of Jean Rice and former New York State Senator, Charles Goodell. He was raised alongside three brothers. He has twin daughters with Jane Skinner, formerly a news anchor for the Fox News Channel. They married in 1997.
Achievements
He was a recipient of the Outstanding Civilian Service Award in 2014.
Trivia
He cancelled NFL Europe in 2007.
