Sandeep Unnikrishnan has been immortalized in Indian history for sacrificing his life to save the lives of several others. The late Indian Army officer was a member of the 51 Special Action Group under the National Security Guards, a counter-terrorism unit. He died as a martyr while taking on terrorists that had held hundreds of people hostage at the Taj Mahal Palace as part of the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
