Sweet Saraya is the ring name of English wrestler Julia Hamer. She’s the founder of the World Association of Women's Wrestling organization. Saraya began her career in 1990, but made her professional debut three years later.
Her first fight was under the Shimmer Women Athletes promotion. In 2012, she won the coveted Shimmer Championship after defeating Cheerleader Melissa. She has also wrestled under the All American Wrestling promotion.
Family
The wrestler had a troubled childhood. During her teens, she became addicted to drugs and was also a victim of a rape incident. She has been married to fellow professional wrestler Ricky Knight. Her daughter Saraya Jade Bevis is also known to be a wrestler.
Achievements
In 2013, she was named in Pro Wrestling Illustrated magazine’s top 50 female wrestlers list.
