About Tiny Tim
Tiny Tim was the stage name of American singer, multi-instrumentalist and musical archivist Herbert Butros Khaury. He is best recalled for making hits out of his renditions of the songs “Livin’ in the Sunlight, Lovin’ in the Moonlight” and “Tiptoe Through the Tulips”.
Tiny Tim taught himself to play the ukulele and guitar. He was a pre-teenager when he began preserving copies of sheet music he saw in the New York Public Library.
Family Life
He was born to Belarusian immigrant Tillie Staff and Butros Khaury from Lebanon. He was first married to Victoria Mae Budinger from 1969 to 1977. His second marriage to Jan Alweiss lasted from 1984 to 1995. As of his death, his widow, Susan Marie Gardner had been married to him for just a year.
Achievements
He has a star on First Avenue nightclub’s outside mural.
Death
He died on 30 November 1996 from a heart attack triggered while he was performing.
