Thomas Dean, commonly known as Tom Dean, is a British professional swimmer who has competed in and won several championships.
Achievements
Some of his career highlights include being part of the British team that won the 4 x 200 freestyle relay event at the 2020 summer Olympics in Japan. He also won the 200 m freestyle at the competition. His success in both events, winning gold, made him the first British athlete to win multiple gold medals in a particular Olympic tournament in 113 years.
In addition, the British swimmer is also noted for excelling at the 2020 European Championships, where he was part of the team that claimed gold medals at the 4×100 m mixed freestyle, 4×200 m mixed freestyle, and 4×100 m medley swimming events.

He started swimming at age 8.
Dean studied at the Sir William Borlase's Grammar School. In 2018 he enrolled at the University of Bath, offering a course in mechanical engineering.
