Vincent Kompany is a Belgian professional footballer who began his career in 2003 playing for Anderlecht. After spending three years with Anderlecht, he moved to Hamburger SV, spending two years with the club before joining Manchester City in 2008. He joined the Belgium national football team in 2004. He is regarded as one of the best defenders of his time.
Family Life
He was born to a Congolese father Pierre and a Belgian mother Jocelyne. In 2011, he married Carla Higgs. He and Carla had a daughter named Sienna in 2010. Their second child, a son named Kai was born in 2013.
Achievements
He was placed at the 23rd position in The Guardian's The 100 Best footballers in the world. Throughout his career he has won several titles, including multiple Premier League titles and Football League Cups with Manchester City. He was named the 2010-2011 Manchester City Players' Player of the Year.
