About Will Young
Will Young’s musical ambition started when he moved to London to study music. It was during this period that he decided to participate in the maiden edition of the talent show “Pop Idol”. Two weeks after winning the competition, he dropped his maiden project, an A-sided single titled "Anything Is Possible" / "Evergreen".
In 2002, he issued his first studio album which was under the name “From Now On”. The work peaked at number one in the United Kingdom. Since then, he has published a number of successful albums with some titled “Let It Go” and “Keep On”.
Acting career
Known to be a complete entertainer, Young has also pursued a career in acting. He has been used in many stage, television and film productions. His performance in the 2013 musical “Cabaret” earned him a Laurence Olivier Award nomination.
He also appeared in an episode of the television series entitled “Skins”.
Family
His father, Robin Young, worked for an engineering firm. Annabel Young, his mother, is a lover of plants. He has a twin brother named Rupert, who died in 2020, and a sister called Emma.
Education
He attended the University of Exeter where he read politics. His talent as a musician was shaped at London’s Arts Educational School.
Honors
Between 2003 and 2015, Young won two UK Music Video Awards, one Silver Clef Awards, two Brit Awards, and two BT Digital Music Awards.
