Amanda Joy Michalka, simply known as AJ Michalka, is an American actress, singer, songwriter and former model. After securing minor roles on television series such as Passions, Birds of Prey, General Hospital and Six Feet Under, she made a name for herself as one member of the pop duo, 78violet.
She has also played notable roles such as Lainey Lewis in The Goldbergs, and Shannon Gressier in The Guardian.

She and her elder sister, Aly, who is the other half of 78violet, were born to Carrie, a musician and Mark, a contracting company owner.
Achievements
78violet’s album, Into the Rush, earned an American Music Awards nomination in 2006 in the Contemporary Inspirational Artists of the Year category.
As an actress, she has received a 2014 Movieguide Award for Most Inspiring Performance in Movies and a 2015 Napa Film Festival Special Jury Award – Acting in a Lounge Feature Film.
