He is best known for appearing in films like the adventure comedy Tom Jones (1963), the musical Scrooge (1970), the musical comedy-drama Annie (1982), and the fantasy drama Big Fish (2003). He is also notable for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in the biographical television movie The Gathering Storm (2002).
