Anika Noni Rose is a Tony Award-winning American actress and singer known for playing the character Lorrel Robinson from the 2006 musical drama filmDreamgirls starring stars such as Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy and Beyoncé Knowles. Her other notable works include lending her voice to the character Tiana from Disney's 2009 hit animated film The Princess and the Frog and portraying Wendy Scott-Carr from the legal drama series The Good Wife. Away from her television and film work, she is also famous for a number of theatre works, including the Broadway show Caroline, or Change.
Awards
For playing the character Emmie Thibodeaux in the Broadway production of Caroline, or Change, she won several awards in 2004 including her first ever Tony Award.
