About Anita Ekberg
The beautiful Swedish actress, Anita Ekberg, born Kerstin Anita Marianne Ekberg, was famously known for her roles in the films “La Dolce Vita”, “The Dam on the Yellow River”, “Call Me Bwana” and “Intervista”. She began as a beauty pageant contestant. In that regard, she won the 1950 Miss Sweden pageantry.
She made her acting debut with Universal Studios. She played minor roles in films such as “The Golden Blade”, “The Mississippi Gambler” and “Take Me to Town”. Other films she starred in include “The Clowns” in 1970, “Northeast of Seoul” in 1972 and “Le nain rouge” in 1998.
Personal Life
She was the daughter of Gustav Ekberg and Alva. She had seven siblings. She got married twice. First to Anthony Steel (married in 1956, divorced in 1959) and then to Rik Van Nutter (married in 1963, divorced in 1975). She never gave birth.
Death
She died at the San Raffaele Clinic in 2015, at the age of 83. The cause of her death was a chronic illness complication.

In 1995, Empire magazine ranked her as the 98th in the list of the 100 Sexiest Superstars in film history.
She was among the six finalists of the 1951 Miss Universe pageant.
