Early Life & Acting Career
The Chicago native began acting on the stage of the Chicago-based Goodman Theater. He later partnered with comedian John Burns to form a duo act. Together, they appeared on TV shows such as The Andy Griffith Show and the Dean Martin Show. They later started their “Burns and Schreiber Comedy Hour” in 1973. In the mid to late 1990s, Schreiber played guest roles in 1993's “Robin Hood: Men in Tights,” and in 1995’s “Dracula.” He portrayed the recurring character of a building superintendent in the comedy series “Friends.”
Family
He exchanged marriage vows with Rochelle Isaac’s in 1962. They went on to have 2 children.
Legacy
In 2003, the Avery Schreiber Theater was established in California in his honor.
